iTeam Final Showcase for 2013

I love December.  It seems to be a time when project efforts culminate into a finishing performance.  We get one final hurrah before we take a break and rest a bit.  I've been talking a lot about "Words We Wear."  This post is about a different, but equally dear and exciting project.

Tonight I am performing in our final showcase with iTeam and our Storybox.  This is an experimental theatre project.  Ken Ingram, the Project Director describes it best: "The Interactive Performance Lab’s StoryBox is a new simulation stage and performance form that makes an audience member the main character in an improvised story. The audience observes the entire experience through a live video feed."

I am part of the ensemble.  We have been practicing story development, improvisation, and techniques for making the spectactor (audience member who is playing our main character) feel comfortable.  The goal is to allow for play and build a story.  We've invited a select audience to see our process tonight.  We know this interactive technique can be used for more than what we are currently doing.  We're invested in the journey.

Please contact me if you would like to see iTeam in action.  We will continue our work through 2014, and we are interested in sharing our discoveries.  Folks involved in film, theatre, creative writing, acting, improvisation, and interactive media have already found uses fror this work.  You might find this is helpful for your work as well.
