Application for SITI Summer Intensive at Skidmore College

I have successfully submitted my application for the SITI Summer Training!  Here is the "about" description.  Basically, I've been developing original theatre since I started working at MicheLee Puppets.  I was developing new theatre work with other folks around town, too.  Then I went to the Eugene O'Neill National Puppetry Conference and learned more about making devised work.  Then I came home and made some devised work.  And now I want to get better at it.

Hi Folks!

It's been a few years, but I'm finally ready to update my website.

A lot has happened since I last posted.  I finished my Masters degree in Communication at UCF.  I published my thesis research.  In June 2013 I ended an incredible 7 year run at MicheLee Puppets with a trip to the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center's National Puppetry Conference.  It changed who I am as an artist.

Philosophy of Collaboration

I approach each new project with the focus of a high stakes-contract, and the sense of play you'd associate with a game of hide and seek.  Creative collaboration is not my hobby; it is my job.  I treat is as such.  I work hard at it.  I love process, but I delight in successful project completion.  I focus on finding the balance between the two.  Both joy and quality come from this balance.

Philosophy of Teaching

As a teacher, I'm passionate about empowering the individual and about immediate application of the subject matter.  Whether I’m teaching public speaking, acting, or theatre history, I believe it is my job to give students a relevant foundation so they can make connections and apply the concepts to their own lives.

Artist Statement

What do you long for?  How many steps does it take to get there?  What if you move your finger?  Pick up a pen?  Take a breath?  Does isolating the movements help you identify their meaning?  I devise theatre of moments that amplifies the electricity of the space between.  I explore relationships:  to the self and the elements of time, space, people, and emotions.
